She got her start in gymnastics after seeing her sister do it. She showed quite a bit of talent, and has progressed through the levels quickly. At age ten, she tested elite, and has since been training at various gyms in the southern California area. After suffering a serious knee injury two years ago though, May was told to take time off and let it heal. During this time, she questioned if she wanted to continue with the sport. May pondered upon it for months until her question was answered upon the arrival of the Olympics. She watched her sister go on to win a silver medal and knew that she wanted to go to the Olympics too. May resumed training after she was cleared and has worked hard to get back into shape. After talking to her sister, May decided that she wanted to write a career of her own. She moved to GSE where she hopes to make the National Team, Worlds team, and ultimately, the 2012 Olympic games.
